PRESS TELECONFERENCE: “The Role of Government in the Broadband Economy: Making Regulations Work”

Why: This teleconference will discuss the impact of government regulations on the communications and telecom sectors – specifically, countercyclical regulatory policy and the role of broadband in economic growth, particularly for small businesses.

Leaders of the Progressive Policy Institute (PPI) and American Consumer Institute (ACI) will examine the effects of government regulation, includingcountercyclical regulatory policy, on the communications and telecommunications industries. Mike Mandel (PPI) and Joe Fuhr (ACI) will share their thoughts on how regulatory modernization would impact economic growth, investment and innovation. The findings of a recent ACI study, “The Information Technology Revolution and the Transformation of the Small Business Economy,” will also be discussed.
