The IIA seeks to promote public policies that support equal opportunity for universal broadband availability and adoption so that everyone, everywhere can seize the benefits of the Internet - from education to health care, employment to community building, civic engagement and beyond.

The City of San Diego is deploying a wireless dispatch service to more than 1,100 trash collection vehicles, saving the people of San Diego more than $1 million in tax dollars per year.

The V-TRAC program developed by the City’s Environmental Services Division combines Global Position System (GPS) technology with Cingular’s wireless broadband network to improve the time and scheduling of collections of trash and recyclables.
